6 Ways to Mix ‘n’ Match Your Saree for a Whole New Look!

By admin On July 3, 2019

The versatility of the saree has always been it’s charm. No matter what the occasion or the mood, a saree can be styled in a thousand ways to meet the challenge. However, styling a saree can be a task when one is not sure of what goes with what. A great way to figure it out is to use different elements from your wardrobe and experiment a little using your favourite clothes. Here are some classic combinations you can try to create your own mix & match look:

  1. The Must Have – A Black Blouse
A Black Blouse is classic. Pair it with any plain saree with a gorgeous border and danglers for a work party or wear it with a printed saree and some pearls for a lunch date with the ladies.
  2. Pair it with Pants
Don’t be afraid to pair your gorgeous ethnic sarees with Western elements to add a twist. Drape a saree on your favourite pair of slim-fit denims or trousers for a bold look for a cocktail party.
  3. Style your shirt or crop top as a blouse
Replace your blouse with your favourite crop top or even a shirt with your saree to create a chic but professional look for your work meeting.
  4. Add a Belt
The right accessories can string together the most basic outfit into a fancy look. Use a belt to accentuate your waist and add an edge to your usual pleated saree for your night out.
  5. Style your saree as a skirt or stole
A saree is not always meant to be a saree. Drape your saree as a skirt or as a stole to create a completely new look for the family function.
  6. Experiment with different draping styles
Drapes can change the way a saree is perceived. Different drapes like the butterfly style, mermaid style, lehenga style or dhoti style can change the look of a saree and give you major outfit goals.

Mixing and matching with different blouses, western outfits, shoes and accessories can create a completely different look with the same nine yards. The easiest way to mix and match your clothes is to keep trying different combinations everyday. Some things might not click, but you will end up creating some amazing #OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) out of it. Don’t play safe and let the experiment begin!
